Tony Torres is a pro wheelchair athlete from St. Petersburg and the executive director of ASF Adaptive Sports, the adaptive division of Action Sports Foundation.

Rider

Tony competed at the WCMX World Championships multiple times, including 2017 and 2018, and took third place at the first ASF Adaptive Sports Jam in 2019. He was also interviewed by Bay News 9 about WCMX.

Coach And Mentor

A 2020 press release on his book described Tony as pouring most of his energy into ASF Adaptive Sports, where he coaches and mentors wheelchair athletes. He was at the heart of ASF’s WCMX clinics, school demos and the visit that brought the Adaptive Sports Circus to Tampa General. His work with the St. Pete Skatepark Alliance helped make the city’s new skatepark accessible to WCMX riders.

Author

Tony created Jimmy Wheelz, a wheelchair-riding character, and the children’s book Jimmy Wheelz and the Minilights. The second edition came out in August 2020.
