Part of ASF's mission is to make sure action sports athletes and sport participants will have access to existing riding spots, open up new ones, and to provide the tools to properly manage the rapid growth of popular action sports, such as Kiteboarding. This sport has seen explosive growth over the years, and kiters all across the country watch their riding areas slip away due to overcrowding and unsafe actions by a few, or because officials find it easier to ban it, than to work out a growth management plan that benefits everyone.

We, and our partners, are working together as a team to help achieve common goals, which includes preserving and increasing access to more riding areas. We accomplishing this through positive actions in the community and showing that all action sports enthusiasts are concerned about the environment. With this proactive approach, kiters and other watersports enthusiasts are in effect, "paying it forward" to show those granting access that kiters also share a passion for the environment, and are willing to do more than their fair share to protect it.
