ASF was founded by a group of kite surfers ( kiteboarders) from St. Petersburg, Florida, who wanted to make a difference in the community and do their part to help grow action sports in a positive direction. Kite4Life is the kite specific division of Action Sports Foundation, created as an effort to help that sport grow in the right direction. Being a relatively new sport, kiteboarding has had its share of growing pains, mainly safety and access issues. Kiteboarding resembles many other action sports, except that it requires proper training from a qualified instructor, extensive knowledge of weather, currents, safety systems, and a hundred other things! Its not something you just figure out on your own, however with proper training, kiteboarding is the ultimate action sport! Without proper training or adequate weather knowledge, it can be one of the most dangerous.
